Easter Egg Hunt 2010 at Easton Baptist Church

Over 70 Easter egg hunters searched for 5,000 candy-filled eggs on the Easton Baptist Church grounds! It was a great time to make friends, enjoy the sunshine, make new friends, and share Christ's love.

Lent - A Message from Pastor Bob

We prepare ourselves spiritually for Christmas by the 4 Sundays of Advent. Coming sooner than we think are Good Friday on April 2nd and Easter Sunday on April 4th. To prepare ourselves spiritually for these special days, Christians have traditionally observed Lent. Lent is the period of 40 days (excluding Sundays) leading up to Easter Sunday. Since Jesus prayed and fasted for 40 days, early Christians set aside this time of 40 days to draw closer the Christ. Let’s not get caught up in ‘works righteous’ or traditions that are not meaningful to us, rather it seems that we all could use this time set aside to draw closer to Jesus as we approach celebrating the greatest love story ever – Jesus dying and rising from the dead all for us!

This year we want to prepare ourselves by meeting on Tuesday evenings in The Fellowship Hall for the 6 Tuesdays of Lent.

When?
Tuesday, February 23 through Tuesday, March 30, 2010.
6:30 – 7:00 p.m. for a very light supper – soup and bread (which will be provided for you)
7:00 – 7:30 p.m. Devotional given on the Love of Jesus with brief discussion to follow

Who?
Anyone who wants to grow in this “Lenten Growth Group” (children are welcome too and while there is NO child care, they may play in the side room during the devotional)

*Please sign-up on the board in the Narthex so we get a count of how much soup to pepare*

The 2009 EBC Annual/Q4 Business Meeting will be held at EBC on Sunday, September 27:

If you haven’t started a reading plan, then please start one now – there are a number of plans available (please ask the Diaconate for more information).
